Fort Worth Pest's Frequently Asked Questions

Below we have listed some of the questions that many people ask. If you have a question and you don't see it here, please e-mail us at sales@fortworthpest.com or call us at 817-472-8181.  We would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

Is your service safe if there are children or pets in the home?

Yes, our technicians will talk with you about the overall situation at your home and then work out a safe, overall program.  Each home is different and many of the pests are treated by different methods.  Generally speaking, the service is safe for all occupants.  Almost all of the maintenance types of services are not odorous enough to cause problems and if a stronger service is needed, the technician may suggest the occupants leave the home for a hour or two after the service.

Do you ever come "Fumigate" like they do in the movies?

No, that type of service is not needed except for some special commercial applications and rare types of termites.

Will it hurt or kill my Lizards & Geckos?

No, most of the materials that modern pest companies use today are not strong enough to kill larger organisms like Lizzards & Geckos.

I hear noises in my attic, what could it be?

If the noise occurs at night, it may be rats or mice since they are nocturnal.  If the noise is heard during the day, it may be Squirrels or other animals which can chew up phone and alarm system wiring.  In either case, we can solve the problem.

I have an animal problem such as a Opossum, Skunk, Snake, or Armadillo, can you take care of them without hurting them?

Yes, like our Bird Control Services, we can Trap & Relocate just about anything, except mother-in-laws ;)

Do you use organic pesticides?

Yes, we have a wide variety of pesticides our technicians can choose from including the latest in advanced technologies.  Although most organic pesticides are effective over time, there are customers who prefer a very fast acting, yet safe, material be used  to eliminate a problem as quickly as possible.  If you choose a company who only uses organic pesticides, you may find that the delay is unbearable for some pests and your technician will be limited in what he can use.

Is your company "Going Green"?

Yes, we have and are in the process of implementing many practices that involve protecting and preserving our environment as well as the natural resources and other eco-systems in this area.

How much does a termite treatment cost and do I need one?

The price is based on how many linear feet (not square feet) that we will need to treat.  Most 3 bedroom slab homes are around $900.00.  This is about what most companies charge but the difference is we have a 10 year warranty with no annual fees.  Most companies charge an annual fee of about $100.00.

Unless you are building your home, it is usually better to wait to have your home treated until you have termites.  If there is special conditions, conducive conditions, or if you have had termites in the past but never treated for them, you may want to have a treatment done for peace of mind.  Please visit our termite section for more information.

How long have you been in business?

The corporation began in 1998.

Why do you only service Tarrant County?

For many years we provided our service for the entire metroplex, but some of our primary objectives are 30 minute arrival times, low costs, and fast response times.  As we grew over the years, it became more difficult to meet these objectives in other counties due to traffic, gas prices, and a large customer base.  By limiting our service area to Tarrant County, we can meet and often exceed these objectives while the competition cannot.
